CHILDREN
The heart of children’s ministry at GCC is to them to love and follow Jesus. Our children’s ministry is centered around teaching kids about who God is and how His word applies to their lives in creative and memorable ways. Through engaging teaching, supportive environments and amazing volunteers, we guide kids towards a better understanding of what it means to love and follow Jesus.
We want kids to know that the Bible is full of cool stories that matter in their lives today, that fun and games are definitely allowed at church, that worship can be full of silly songs and dancing and that there are adults in the church who love them and want to lead them to love and follow Jesus.
We have different groups for different ages and programs. On Sunday morning, during the 9 a.m. hour there is a nursery provided for ages 0-2, a preschool room for ages 3 to Kindergarten age, and a class for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. The nursery and preschool room are also available during the 10:30 worship service.
Right before the message during the worship service, our children 5th grade and under are dismissed to Kid’s Worship, where they participate in songs, crafts, games and a lesson that helps them understand Biblical principles at an age appropriate level.
On Wednesday nights, Chelsea and her team of volunteers spend the hour with all of our children, engaging them in a variety of activities.
Throughout the year, there will be different events and activities that our kids will participate in such as trips to the zoo, or mini-golf, and different programs at church like “Summer to the Max” and Vacation Bible School.
All volunteers in our children’s ministry submit to a background check and must be approved before they begin serving. For more information about our children’s ministry, reach out to Chelsea at cpowell@glendalecc.org
